Couriers don't want to pay delivery drivers £25+ an hour to retain the trustworthy and valued employees and to also employ 30% more drivers so as not to overwork them. Because nobody wants delivery charges to begin at £15 #dpd #dhl #royalmail #ups #evri

The UK’s private postal company (which bizarrely calls itself “Royal Mail”) has written to say that the are improving the service by reducing deliveries (of second class mail) from six days a week to two or three. Why can’t they just be honest and say that they are trying to contain costs? #RoyalMail #Post

We had a leaflet through the door from the postman to tell us that the service is going to start being shit. Which is quite a surprise as it got shit several years back. To be honest if they keep to their promise to deliver letters every second day, that's going to be a significant improvement on what we currently get. #RoyalMail

A package lost, simple. Tracking shows it got to target country and no more, and now months later. So simple, this is "International Tracked £50 compensation".

The fun is that they want

  1. Original certificate of posting.
  2. Proof of cost price

Well, I have asked, and got no answer, if their own tracking is proof of posting. I cannot imagine I need some paper certificate or something. I hope not. We'll see what they say.

I received a letter from the #UK #government Department of Work & Pensions (#dwp) recently. It was sent to my old address and had arrived thanks to the forwarding service of #RoyalMail. They told me I couldn't do it online due to one of the answers I gave, so I made a phone call. After 30 minutes of repeatedly being told they knew I was #waiting it was great to speak to a human with a thoroughly #English accent. I could understand her and enjoy a little chit chat. Since my #teenage #years I've been known by my middle name. That's common in Ireland, I was told. She confessed to having Irish relatives in her family. But to the point of this toot! I really should have told her that #Google reckons the number I rang belongs to a company called "Funerals on a Budget". After the call a dialogue appeared asking me if I could confirm they had the correct information. I was so busy #laughing I managed to close the #dialogue before answering.
