So I was doing my almost daily cycle down to #Oslo centre and while on top of the #Operahuset what do I see out of the corner of my vision but @th@social.v.st's ship (OK it is not actually his personally but he is a crew member, so I consider it sort of his as well). For those that do not recognise it, it's the #Draken, famous for a few reasons but most recently it stars in The #Odyssey (2026). #UnicycleLife

Did you see the #Odyssey? The scene where the Laestrygonians decimate the crew (3,000 yo spoiler) uses forced perspective to make "giants" (like how they made "hobbits" in #LotR) 2.1 m/ 7 foot men in the background, a 1.4 m/ 4 foot 6 inch woman in the foreground, a small aperture, et voila: giants "Woman? You mean #MattDamon" No That's #DevynDalton, a Canadian stuntwoman, on the #movie's poster. Damon called her biceps "the greatest arms I have ever seen": https://youtu.be/HENeMPc8Qwc #cinema

#Moth #Moths #Iowa I’m going to jump on the #Odyssey bandwagon (even though I might never see the movie…) This handsome moth is called “Antheraea polyphemus” and is named for Polyphemus, the Cyclops from Homer’s Odyssey. It’s all about the eyes! (My son took the photo yesterday outside of his workplace in central Iowa.)

About to go see the #Odyssey. I'm not going in expecting any kind of homage to Homer. This is cinematic extravaganza. I wanna see some beautiful wide-shot scenes, and hopefully enjoy a very fluffy version of the story, which I did read in its entirety, but a very long time ago. Heading in to the only IMAX theater within an hour of me.

There's been a lot of buzz around the new film #Odyssey for a while as cast members were announced... Anne Hathaway, Elliot Paige, Matt Damon, Zendaya. Yeah, yeah. Okay, sounds good. Whatever. To say it was an odyssey would be fair! When Roman historians go to see ancient Greece on film, we have opinions for sure. Did we enjoy the Agamemnon-Darth Vader cross over? Yes. Were we impressed with Odysseus’ complete lack of charisma? No. Would Nolan benefit from having a co-writer who was a woman? Double yes. #AncientGreece #Odyssey
