It's been more than 2 years since I posted A Hat in Time running on NVK (Mesa Nvidia Vulkan driver) with reclocking, so I got curious how much it improved since then on the same hardware (my old gaming laptop with GTX 1660 Ti). From probably GPU bound 51fps to being heavily CPU bound 104fps is a pretty nice jump. If I remember correctly, proprietary drivers even when CPU bound is still faster here, so there's still some work to be done. #nvk #nouveau #linux #linux_gaming

I'm experiencing weird total system freezes with GT710 on nouveau when switching to the lowest pstate (0x07) vs (0x0f). I need to force 0x0f with kernel cmdline for it to not freeze during boot. I first tested it on openSUSE MicroOS (don't remember kernel version) but then also hit the same issue on Debian Trixie (6.12 Kernel). Will continue investigating tomorrow, but perhaps someone already has encountered this and figured it out? #linux #linuxdesktop #nouveau
