This Saturday will be the date of the next massive protest rallies across the US, and I am very down in spirits that I can't participate. Last October, I had to miss the protest march because I had to work, and the same thing now. This Saturday is the first day of the spring break, and the zoo will be busy, and hence I will be working. I have been regularly putting in my twice-a-week solitary one-person vigils with a protest sign for months now. But just me alone on a random neighborhood street corner feels so inadequate. I keep it up, because I can do it around my schedule. But I've longed to be part of these bigger impact gatherings. Anyway, today I had a thought. Do I know any friends who might come out with me this Saturday? Anybody who lives nearby, and shares my politics, and is free at that time on a Saturday? I've already e-mailed one possible friend, and am thinking about who else i might ask. If there are two or three of us together, I think it will feel different, as if we are a splinter from the larger tree, an offshoot of the larger event on the same day. It's given my spirit a boost, just to have thought of this. Still a few days till the weekend, so I'll see how this idea plays out. But I'm hoping to have company this time. #NoKings #NoICE #Resist #Hope

#NOICE Every time I find out a family member is posting #fascist rhetoric that cops shouldn't be allowed to be judge jury and executioner, I die a little inside, cause I know their are also the type that it's just common knowledge that we need another civil war, apparently never having studied the horrible death toll the civil war caused leaving vet crippled, when brother fought against brother and I am worth being shot because we will very much not be on the same side. Inside im taking the option of people like MLK of passive resistance with the least amount of death that the Nazi ICE fascists are emptying entire clips into their back or face for standing up for the constitution
