Hello and welcome to #NakedDieFriday -- the last one this month. Please have a look at this nice die, designed by @mole99@fosstodon.org as part of his master's thesis. It's called Greyhound: A RISC-V SoC with tightly coupled eFPGA on IHP SG13G2. Hello, how are you doing? This is #NakedDieFriday speaking, and today's post is the continuation of the one from last week. It is the second die out of Conexant FM336PLUS, a modem chip. Unfortunately, there was some trash on the die which I could not remove. The die is larger than the other one and appears to be fully digital. There are a lot of memory blocks as well. Hello! This is a very late #NakedDieFriday talking. I got caught in something here and totally lost track of time. Today we have one half of a chip. :D This FM336PLUS by Conexant contains two dies, but I only imaged one of them due to time constraints. The product itself is a "High Performance Fax Modem" going all the way up to 33600bps! Hands up those who had one of 33.6k modems back in the day. I did, and I loved it. Greetings! How are you all doing? It's been raining here on and off for a couple days now. But that's not going to stop #NakedDieFriday is it. Today's exhibit is a sibling of the venerable 6502. This is almost the same, but made in CMOS: R65C02 by Rockwell. The design has been enhanced in several aspects over the NMOS one. Hello and welcome to this week's installment of #NakedDieFriday ! Today I got a new (for the collection) manufacturer, nevertheless very familiar to the #retrocomputing crowd: Western Digital. And the chip they made is WD10C27, solemnly described by the manufacturer as "data separator" for hard disk applications. The data sheet claims this is made with a 1.25u 5V CMOS process. Hello and welcome to the first #nakeddiefriday of this spring. Today we have a family visit; I got several dies from the same manufacturer which is Starchip. I know, hardly heard of them, but they seem to make smartcard chips. They use manufacturer code 0x0081 in CPLC data. The first on is SCF384G, dated 2010. A couple memory arrays, an area at the top where unknown things happen (probably power regulation), and a sea of gates in bottom right. There are also two smaller unbonded pads right next to it.
