Fail, I CANNOT get myself on track with a robot today, I only have today and tomorrow to finish (well, and start) the weekly robot.

@emily@fedi.uni.horse teeth should point backsawards, otherwise you are pushing on the flimsy blade and it will unhook. When the teeth point back, you are pulling the blade, and it doesn't unhook.

I wanted dpdt pushbuttons so I dont have to get NC and NO stock, these were the cheapest at DK, who wanted something like $23ea!

@arti@mk.absturztau.be I have 470uf on the noisy end, I go thru a 100r resistor to the ch32v003 which has a 1000uf + 0.22uf + two 0.1uf across it.

I might try a voltage doubler and linear regulator on the servo controller to clean the power.

ok, motors mounted and linkages attached. now I just need to fix the power issue on my servo controller!

The drive linkages for the servos will be made of straightened out Apple reset/eject tools.

ok, time to glue in the servos, I changed my mind on the mounting style. The idea is that all the precision stuff is 3d printed and the rest can be cardboard, so this is a frame that hold the servo.

I put a hex on the cams so I could re-position them, but this isn't the best neutral position I could have eneded up with and the hex is a bit too crude to allow me a better position. oh well, I'll use a 12 point next time.

@mike@mikecoats.social @seeedstudio@seeedstudio.social erm, want something you configure with a set of segment distances and it calculates the servo angle for you given a specified endpoint distance?

ah yes, but how can you control the servo movements? is the idea to program the movements on the esp32, or do you have a servo control webpage on there, or is there external software(s)? all of the above?

This works good for patterning. spray the back of a paper pattern (from a 1:1 cad program even) and it becomes a temporary sticker to put on what your cutting out. stick on, cut part, remove. Also good for locating holes to be drilled. (print X on locations and hit with punch)

The cams I printed last night are ok, thats a good start.

Ideally, the new controller lets me operate 6 servo channels, this is due to the lack of adc channels on the ch32, otherwise I would do 8 channels. It needs a LOT more capacitors!

I didn't even get all the parts for this weeks robot designed/printed.
This is a set of cams to replace the gears I used on this leg last week.
about to start the print...

@ChuckMcManis@chaos.social part of the reason I hate PICs is the way they lock up with power noise. You can have REALLY noisy rails on an AVR and its fine with it.

ok, I'm kinda failing on this weeks robot, as I have the controller , but have not technically built the robot yet.
the ch32v003 is MUCH more sensitive to power noise than an AVR.

For the motor controller I'm building for the weekly robot, I got this decided. For the connection from the hand controller to the servo breakout box (serial) I'm going to use an RJ45 with an ethernet pinout. the - side of the signal pair will be ground.
