Q: Does “evil genius” Palantir’s NHS software actually work? A: Apparently it’s “absolutely rubbish” "’It's just a waste of time’: inside Palantir's £330m NHS failure” by Peter Geoghegan and Lucas Amin in Democracy For Sale on Substack @uk_politics @UKLabour@mastodon.cloud @palantirwatch@kolektiva.social “Palantir has been dubbed the world’s scariest company. Trump’s favourite tech firm provides surveillance software to ICE, the Pentagon and the Israeli ministry of defence. Peter Thiel and Alex Karp talk excitedly of AI drone-driven warfare. BBC News | Army to resume Ajax armoured vehicle trials after they made soldiers sick AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. The Army will restart testing of the Ajax armoured vehicle “cautiously,” after a pause caused by about 30 soldiers experiencing illness linked to noise, vibration, cold exposure and air‑quality factors during training last November. Defence Minister Luke Pollard said an investigation attributed the symptoms to a combination of technical and environmental issues, and that all affected personnel have returned to duty with only temporary effects. General Dynamics, which builds the ££‑million Ajax programme in Merthyr Tydfil, welcomed the MoD’s safety investigation findings and affirmed its confidence in the vehicle’s performance, noting that new strict controls and soldier feedback will shape further improvements. Trials will resume in a phased, tightly controlled manner, with the aim of rebuilding confidence, safeguarding jobs in South Wales and delivering a combat‑ready, fully digitised fighting vehicle for the UK’s war‑fighting and NATO commitments. Explosion, also known as Equals Explosion, is the second album by the Equals, released in December 1967. Probably most notable for: "Police on My Back" In 1980, the Clash recorded a cover version of the song for their album Sandinista!,[1][2] and turned "the mid-paced soul-pop song into a charged-up, full-powered rocker".[3] Their version featured guitarist Mick Jones on lead vocals, and was released as a single, but only in Australia. It was described as a "punk anthem at a time of political and social repression", and as their "most full-throated rock song since I Fought The Law." - Wikipedia #TheEquals #EddyGrant #PoliceOnMyBack #TheClash #Beat #Mod #60sPop #Music

Fame At Last by George Fame, released in 1964 on Columbia. Review by Dave Thompson ...A blistering romp through Fame & His Blue Flames' live repertoire of the day, fast and loose and driving, it captures one of Britain's best-ever R&B troupes stepping so far beyond the customary precepts of the Beat Boom that, if you were to come to this record without knowing who it was, there's no way you'd ever guess a bunch of (predominantly) Londoners were responsible. To pull out any highlights is to indicate that there are any corresponding low-lights -- there aren't. But a "Green Onions" so sweet that you can taste it captures the group in full flame, while Willie Dixon's "I Love the Life I Live" has rarely sounded so supreme.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5aWUaNfTZA&list=OLAK5uy_nRUwT7eAo10X3KDDZObuWKAIglqxrGA7g&index=1 #GeorgeFame #Jazz #Blues #BritishBeat #BeatBoom #Music #Mod

Something Else from the Move is a five-track live EP by the English pop band the Move, released on 21 June 1968 through Regal Zonophone. The Move established themselves with a series of singles that reached the top-five in the UK singles chart, generating hype for an album. After rumours about a live LP began circulating, the Move's manager Tony Secunda pitched an idea about recording an EP of live performances at the Marquee Club in central London. Reflecting the Move's setlist on stage, Something Else from the Move is exclusively made up of covers of songs by contemporary pop bands such as Love and 1950s singers such as Eddie Cochran. The EP has an eclectic blend between rockabilly and psychedelic music. - Wikipedia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Fl065L5lSA&list=RD2Fl065L5lSA&start_radio=1 #TheMove #TheByrds #Psychedelia #EddieCochran #Music #Beat #Mod #BritishInvasion #SpookyTooth #JerryLeeLewis

Emotions is the third album by the English rock group The Pretty Things, released in 1967. Emotions Review by Matthew Greenwald The Pretty Things were one of the most underrated rhythm & blues bands to come out of the mid-60's British rock explosion. So well-loved by Brits, they were often thought of in the same breath as The Rolling Stones. And, like a lot of great rhythm & blues based groups to come put of England, they stepped somewhat uneasily into the precarious psychedelic music explosion. However, in all fairness, The Pretty Things did come up with a pretty fine and original album, Emotions. Superbly well-orchestrated (especially the gorgeous "The Sun," one of the album's standouts), The Pretty Things didn't lose sight of their R&B leanings, as tracks such as "There Will Never Be Another Day" show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_lYqTA-lj0&list=RDK_lYqTA-lj0&start_radio=1 #ThePrettyThings #Mod #Beat #Psychedelia #Music #BritishInvasion #1967

Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake is the third studio album, and only concept album by the English rock band Small Faces. Released on 24 May 1968,[2] the LP peaked at number one in the UK on the Record Retailer LPs Chart, where it remained for six weeks.[3] It became the group's final studio album during their original incarnation Side one of the album showcases a variety of musical styles. The opening title track is an instrumental re-working of "I've Got Mine", a failed single from 1965. This recording uses a Hammond Organ treated with wah-wah pedal and orchestral flourishes from a string section led by David McCallum Senior (the father of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. star David McCallum.)... - Wikipedia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5vywhWTBqU&list=PLXMFx5K46KjDO0Y_FzPunL4Cp6BdLMCXr&index=1 #SmallFaces #SteveMarriott #Mod #Psychedelia #ConceptLP #Music

The Animals is the self-titled debut album by the British R&B/blues rock band the Animals. It was released in the United Kingdom on 6 November 1964 on EMI's Columbia Records Review by Bruce Eder The group's U.K. debut long-player, containing -- in the custom of the time in England -- not one of their singles up to that point, including "House of the Rising Sun." Apart from "Story of Bo Diddley" (which is, itself, heavily steeped in conventions out of Bo Diddley's repertory), everything here is a cover of traditional blues and R&B material, ..For adult orientation, The Animals is roughly on a par with the Rolling Stones' debut LP (though that album is also more fun). The group would do better in the future in a less stiff and intense posture, but this is a strong debut. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okO1uWXICg0&list=PL42Yxei0XI0ETXbwmM8eoasNKHiIhXYGQ&index=1 #TheAnimals #EricBurdon #BeatmUsic #Mod #Blues #BritishInvasion #Music #DebutLP #AlanPrice
