This morning before heading to the store, I cleaned my car windows. After I got home, it poured down rain for a couple hours. I just wiped the windows again, to prevent water spots, and the clean cloth came back covered in this black gunk. Black gunk that had to come from the rain. #Memphis #xAI #turbine #pollution?

News out of Memphis today indicates that Trump's unwanted surge of National Guard troops into Black neighborhoods has claimed another life. Over night American Soldiers, not civilian police, shot and killed a man who was running away. Memphis' crime rate was falling and no one wanted the National Guard into except Trump's MAGA clowns. The soldiers who killed Tyrin Johnson have not been named. No word on bodycam or other oversight tools in use. #Memphis #NationalGuard #TyrinJohnson

I am not against #ai In fact I am fascinated by it and the benefits it can yield. However, I think that the location and impact of the #datacenters that run AI need to be carefully considered. One only has to look at #musk 's Colossus datacenter in #Memphis and the pollution from the #lng power turbines. So, I think that datacenters in #vancouver should be carefully vetted. In Vancouver, demonstrators marched from the Vancouver Art Gallery to City Hall against two proposed TELUS-linked AI data centres, part of a BC cluster that could consume 150 megawatts of BC Hydro power by 2032. It was one of many demonstrations across the country.
