I think this whole Reckless Ben Vs. BAM situation resonates with so many people because it sets on FULL display the values of our capital-centered justice system. At its core, it's an outgrowth of the colonial attitude that spawned it, an attitude at the core of Western patriarchal society that gives white Christian moneyed men the impression that they are entitled to ownership of all the wealth and resources around them. They've convinced themselves that the people to which those resources really belong don't deserve them, or don't use them properly, or are too irresponsible with them that it's perfectly okay to seize them for their own use. And when the rightful owners or original users demand them back per contract or LAW, they make excuses or threats to maintain control, because they've tied their brains in knots with all kinds of justifications as to why they should keep hold of the stuff they stole.
We've seen it happen with land, water, money, housing, our own bodies, and now with fucking LEGO. There is nothing too small, too insignificant for the Colonial project to take from you. They will literally steal candy from a baby, then turn around and try to claim that the baby is wrong for having it in the first place. Even the white people who enjoyed the protection of the white-oriented western colonialism are starting to wake up to the fact that their skin color will not protect them if a rich white man wants what they have.
We're all noticing the ugly writing on the wall now, and getting so close to class consciousness we can touch it. All that's needed now is for those folks that still see themselves as fundamentally different from those marginalized people around them to see the parallel between the blatant theft of a valuable LEGO collection and the blatant theft of land from indigenous societies to finally make the thing CLICK.

I was so impressed by Lumibricks' Alpine Observatory that I couldn't resist the temptation and ended up buying their #Art Gallery. It was a fantastic building experience, the model is packed with details, and it looks great on my bookshelf!
3400 pieces, 22 lights, 62 printed pieces, zero stickers. I bought it at a discount at 160 euros —an absolute steal. A similar #lego model with the same piece count would've easily cost twice as much, without lights and lots of stickers. 1/3

Really impressed with the Lumibricks Alpine Observatory set! It is loosely inspired by the Sphinx observatory in the Swiss Alps, and as an astronomer I had to buy it.
This was my first set from a non- #lego brand. The pieces felt great in terms of build quality and clutch power. The lights add a very nice touch, and the wire management was cleverly done using custom pieces with grooves.
It was a really fun build, packed with details and easter eggs.

A few people have asked about it. Yesterday #Costco online showed no Artemis sets. Today online it still doesn't show the one above but it does show a different simpler #Artemis one AND a SpaceShuttle with plane bundle for $250 usd. Too pricey for me but posting for #space #lego enthusiasts.
