Long-time followers of this account will know that I play #JetLagTheGame Hide + Seek with @darkphoenix@not.an.evilcyberhacker.net and @quixoticgeek@social.v.st. Most recently we played a long game in Germany early last month. Whenever we do play, we tend to livetoot it (ish) and we get asked questions about our house cards and our house rules, especially as we mention both during our coverage. People have asked us to publish our rules, and as the designated rule keeper, I keep saying to people “I will when it’s ready”. And now it’s finally ready. Fediverse, I present to you our house rules: https://jltg.eu More than just a collection of clarifications, and our own special rules, we decided to just rewrite the entire rule book, as the official rule book has a lot of random things all over the place in an order that doesn’t really make sense for reference. We invite your commments, banter, and wholesome criticism. And please do play with our rules if you wish!

and I've posted nothing, but it is of course day three of our 3 day game of #JetLagTheGame Hide and Seek, in which we ran off, got on a train from Berlin Hbf to Berlin Potsdamer Platz, did a thermo, cut off about half the country, were expecting her to have taken a train south towards Nuremberg only to then be completely thrown off and left scrambling for a way to find where she did go. But not to worry, we are now on a comfortable ICE with at least some idea of the right direction, taking a bit of a break to regroup and plan next steps...

Well a lot has happened. It seems they've narrowed me down to a small corner of Neidersachsen. Meanwhile I've had lunch and am wandering round my hiding zone confusing the locals and taking photos. #JetlagTheGame

As hider in this game you become acutely aware of what info you might be leaking. In one of the other runs we were trying to identify the type of train the hider was on cos they shared a photo of a curse card on a train table. There's lots that on a normal train ride I might toot about. But I can't risk it leaking info. I've become even more aware of this since I've been watching Jose Monkey's videos on YouTube. #JetlagTheGame

The final day of our 3 day game of #JetlagTheGame hide and seek Germany begins. I got part way to my hiding zone last night. So far progress is best described as deutschebahn being deutschebahn. I am very hungry, and really need to find some breakfast. I have just over an hour until @darkphoenix@not.an.evilcyberhacker.net and @moof@cupoftea.social begin their pursuit.

We have parted ways. @darkphoenix@not.an.evilcyberhacker.net and @moof@cupoftea.social have gone in search of food to give me enough time to get out of Berlin Hbf, without any spoilers of where I've gone. We part ways with what is now becoming traditional. "See you at 7pm" says the hider, "see you at 1pm" says the seekers... #JetlagTheGame

Before we could make any move we needed to establish if @darkphoenix@not.an.evilcyberhacker.net has gone north or south. As a slightly different approach to usual, we started by asking if they are closer to sea level than us. Or more simply: are you high? Turns out they are closer to sea level. So north we go! #JetlagTheGame

We get a lot of questions about our games of #JetlagTheGame, and one of the most common is are we filming it. The answer is no. What is not obvious from when the folks of Wendover productions play, something that Michelle points out in the arctic escape season. They really are athletes. The same as why they don't always run. We left the hotel at 0930 this morning and got to tonights hotel at about 2300. That's a long day of social, and intense thought, and split second decision making. 1/n

Hello! And welcome to day 1 of this 3-day game of #JetLagHideAndSeek - Germany edition! It’s 9:00am, @wendy@mendeddrum.org and I are at Hannover Hauptbahnhof, and it’s time for us to Go! Go! Go!
