Hello Fediverse! 👋 Time for my #introduction. I transitioned from a B.Sc. in Molecular Biology to an M.Sc. in Cognitive Science at Ruhr University Bochum. This path has given me a multi-scale perspective on biology and computation. My Master's thesis focuses on neural-autonomic synchrony, classifying emotions in an embodied context using #EEG, #fNIRS, #EDA and #ECG. Long-term, I want to transition deeper into actual #BCI, #HMI, physiological computing, and #consciousnessresearch. 🧠💻 I value open science and ethical, decentralized systems. This philosophy drives my work with Volt Europa (evidence-based policy/open infrastructure) and my support for the Chaos Computer Club (#CCC). I chose neuromatch.social over corporate platforms like LinkedIn to connect with people who care about genuine scientific exchange, not algorithms and self-promotion. Let's connect! 💁🏻‍♀️ TIL: Engineers at #PennState have developed a conductive #ink that works like face paint to create customizable electrodes for monitoring #heart, #muscle, and #brain activity. The #water-based ink dries on #skin within minutes, conforms closely for more accurate readings, and can be washed off and reapplied. In tests, the sensors tracked #ECG for 12 hours and fed muscle signals to a robotic #prosthetic. 👉 https://www.popsci.com/technology/colorful-paint-on-health-sensors/ #sensors #health #wearables #stem #ecg #emg #science #invention #engineering #biotech #tech #technology

Medical question (ECG equipment) Hover or focus to reveal Sensitive
I've been learning how to read and interpret ECG's today, and have gotten curious on performing a measurement on myself (beyond single lead, ideally with I,II,III, V1-V6 etc. ) What is the cheapest semi-ok option out there to do so? Is there some hacker-ish device out there I can build to make an ECG? Doesn't have to be medically certified, I'm not a medial professional, I just like to learn and mess around #ecg #ekg #medical
