Thoughts on mountains on #mountainmonday. I wanted to hike the Monte Pelmo, today, after being forced to give up, last week. I had to cancel again. The extreme heat is melting the permafrost and the mountain is literally crumbling. It's not safe, now. Another consequence of climate change that breaks my heart. I then decided to hike another round ring I have been wanting to do since forever: the Mondeval plateau from Toffol. @hiking #hiking #dolomites #dolomiti 1/4

Sometimes I am too tired from life and I almost give up on waking up at 5AM to go hiking. Thankfully I am also stubborn. I would have missed all this beauty and an amazing day with my local Alpine Club. This is Cima Ferrara in the Friuli Dolomites. 12,5km - 1220mt elevation gain. I loved every second of this. Esmu paņēmusi pilnīgi nejauši apartamentu kalna galā, stāva 3km brauciena gala. Skats iespaidīgs, bet pēc vīna un maizes kārtīgs kāpiens leja- augšā #artaceļo #dolomiti

#throwbackThursday I hiked several times to Lago Federa in the #Dolomites. It's one of my favorite places ever. But I rarely had the chance to witness the overlapping of autumn and winter in such a beautiful way. This was taken in November 2023. It snowed the day before, but larchs were still red, so the result was the beautiful Becco di Mezzodì framed by blue, white and red.
