Sweet, sweet victory for chocolate makers with Saskatchewan ties Assiniboia, Sask. residents Tiffany Rose and her husband Robert Payant joined their friends in farming cocoa in Ecuador. Lovely pair (trio if you count the strange frame) on a wall in Céret, French Catalonia, sent to me by roving correspondent Anna Rothwell. At the top is a palimpsest with the most prominent layer looking like "Salon Raymond, Rue du Commerce". It's gotten to the point where a reasonably large pixel-mapped display is, to a first approximation, free. Slap one of those on top of your MCU board and you're done - no designing a custom panel, laying out LEDs, multipin connectors to run all the LEDs... and the actual usability of the things will probably tank, because then the display is "just software", and we know how excellent white goods makers are at software... #electronics #display #ApplicationSpecific #TaskSpecific #appliance #LED #hobby #chocolate #blood #DarkSide.

After years of loyalty to Ben & Jerrys Chocolate Fudge Brownie, I'm taking a break (due to what a pain it is to scoop, despite its deliciousness). So, I ordered 2 new-to-me kinds of chocolate ice cream today, tried 1 scoop of each... ...& whoops. They're both delicious! Fun afternoon doing a workshop - #KitchenChemistry and other #Chemistry demos and activities - this time for teachers. Not all were even #science teachers - one was Art and some were 2nd grade or elementary school teachers. Made hand sanitizer, explored heat and conductivity and microwaves and energy, and associated concepts of wavelengths and color. Then hydrophobicity and emulsions and #chocolate mousse!
