Meta ist aus der RE100-Initiative, einem globalen Zusammenschluss von Unternehmen, die sich dem Ziel verpflichtet haben, ihren gesamten Energiebedarf aus erneuerbaren Energien zu decken, ausgetreten. Als Begründung nennt die Nachrichtenseite Rechargenews die zunehmende Verwendung von Erdgas für die Energieversorgung von Rechenzentren.

Da das Greenwashing mit den Zertifikaten nicht mehr funktioniert, steigt Meta eben ganz aus der Vereinbarung aus.

Alles nur ein Haufen Lügner.

One of my biggest, most hated lies (particularly when spread by Bitcoiners) is that gas flaring is good for the environment. No, no it is not. This is the worst and possibly most successful bit of greenwashing next to single use plastics. Idiots will routinely spout “It’s good that they’re doing this and it’s better than the alternative!” Methane having a much higher GWP than CO2 doesn’t mean gas flaring is “good for the environment”. The real alternative is Flare Gas Recovery Systems (FGRS), which can at least capture the gas rather than wasting it. #ClimateCrisis #greenwashing

#BuzzBallz are unrecyclable, and claims to the contrary are #greenwashing say recycling experts "The company behind the bright, pre-mixed cocktails that have taken Gen Z by storm said they were recyclable on its website, but experts say this is not true. BuzzBallz cannot be recycled as the PET plastic ball cannot be separated from the aluminium lid, global environmental action body WRAP said." Previously, there was a brief suspension of the contract due to Lime failing to pick-up their trash that had been dumped inconsiderately in bad locations by customers, and because Lime got caught saturating the city with more hire vehicles than the contract permitted. And, it's been suspected by some people that Lime had also been dumping e-bikes: trucking them into suburbs and treating public footpaths as their own depot. This final cancellation of the Lime contract means several inner city suburbs of Melbourne will finally be rid of the problem of shitty people with shitty cycling skills and shitty attitudes to safety, who were riding shitty rental e-bikes and scooters, and making shitty decisions about where to dump them. #Melbourne #Yarra #Lime #EBikes #Greenwashing
