Induction stove, week 2

  1. Family is very happy with the switch!
  2. Air quality improvement in the house is dramatic. Especially CO2 readings.
  3. Stove is a LOT cleaner amd easier to clean. Magnitudes easier then the prior gas range.
  4. Heat shielding on oven is far, far better than the old oven. Does not heat up the house like the old oven, which was noticeably adding heat to the house when on.
  5. Manual controls with knobs on this particular model is great! No touch screen required for the cooktop.
  6. Heat level control is absolutely stellar on this model. Everyone here is very happy about that (was a concern vs. gas)

Looks like we're a "go" for switching to an induction stove/range Probably from Costco. Anyone have any recommendations? (I know folks have mentioned that physical controls a lot better than touch screens, for sure) #appliances #inducation

I swore I checked this before, but yes, I have a live 240V circuit back behind the stove. (There's also a disgusting amount of food bits and crud back there... ewww) #appliances

New-to-me LG LSE4617 has been obtained (via the miracle of the Fediverse and ham radio fellowship), and a proper electrical cable purchased and connected to the induction range. Tomorrow, will remove the old gas stove and connect the induction range (cross fingers it all works, lol). #appliances

Installed and running! Boiled a pot of water. Gas definitely needs to be capped, the pipe extends out and you can't push the stove all the way out. Also needs to be capped per code. #inductionrange #appliances

The air fryer suffers from the same problem as microwaves and toaster ovens. Featuritis. Too many buttons. This is a new appliance in our home. There's been a lot of consultation of the manual. Tonight it's chicken thighs. #cooking #appliances #AirFryer #usability

I want to find whoever engineered this wiring harness, confirm with them that their manager ordered them to engineer it down to survive exactly to end of warranty and no longer, get that manager's name, dopeslap the engineer for going along with it, and then beat the absolute living shit out of the manager. (This is the... fourth repair of this harness. So far. Including _after_ replacing the accessible section _in its entirety_. Nope, that's not good enough. These fucking wires may as well be angel hair, and it's sealed inside, and eventually I guess I'll just have to find a way to store everything somewhere and take apart the entire fucking unit to replace the entire run because fuck me is why.) #appliances #refrigerator #repair #diy
