@Dakotastomp96 @satori In the end, they allow you to withdraw your money at any time without fees if you use PayPal, so I suggest going for it even if you're unsure. If you end up running into any issue or just get fed with them, you can just delete all the tiers, withdraw the money and move on without worries. Ci-en on the other side, is way more problematic. They banned my account for completely unrelated reasons a while ago and I still have money sitting there I can do nothing about.

@Dakotastomp96 @satori It's kinda weird because Fanbox and Pixiv are from the same company, but they're not the same. I've had posts being completely ignored by moderation on Pixiv and then suspended on Fanbox (They suspend only the post and tell you to change, if you do, they bring it back). Then I feel like moderation is more worried about what's public in your account than what's hidden under a paywall, so some stuff can go under the radar. It's Japanese, it doesn't work, but it does lol.

@Dakotastomp96 @satori From my experience, having both my Twitter and BlueSky account on the top of my Fanbox page all these years, I never had any issue with them having uncensored content on them. The issue I had was saying "You can find a version without mosaics on Fanbox (It has bar censors)" on Pixiv and they told me to not say stuff like that since it can trigger the cops over the platform. So now I say something like "Bar censors version on Fanbox" and they never bothered me over it.

@Dakotastomp96 @satori I don't know, I like the subscription format and Fanbox works for me. Fanbox has several issues like no dark mode, the articles are in a weird format instead of using markdown or just plain html, I don't know if they made it thinking of phones but there's this insistence in scrolling instead of having more elegant options like Fantia and Ci-en, etc. But it allows me to connect with my supporters beyond the platform itself, so it gets the job done overall.

@Dakotastomp96 @satori Linked in Fanbox or Pixiv itself? Honestly, hard to say. I have been linking specific posts on my BlueSky and Twitter on my Pixiv posts for ages and both accounts are filled of uncensored stuff and I never had an issue. If they ever get mad at you, they just suspend the account and tell you to change whatever is wrong (Without telling you what's wrong lol). An issue I actually had was saying that people would get a version without mosaic and they told me to not say that.

@Dakotastomp96 @satori I heard people get banned from Patreon if they find out the work that is being supported has relation to stuff they don't allow. Catbox itself had their account banned from it (and Ko-fi) despite not hosting anything in their site. Subscribestart never activated my account even after months and several e-mails, never answered any of my e-mails either. Fanbox works for me and it seems they're trying their best to keep it that way.

@Dakotastomp96 @satori If you do all the work outside of Fanbox and keep it only for supporter perks or similar, it will work great. Pixiv will tell you to NOT link to any site where people can see your stuff uncensored through Fanbox or Pixiv itself, but they don't care if you do have somewhere where people can see your work uncensored, so I bet you can work out with your supporters to create a workflow where everyone ends happy.

@Dakotastomp96 @satori It might sound a bit too stiff, I used to think so when they suspended my account for using "loli" tags, but tags and etc are useless for reach in Fanbox, and Pixiv will let you post and use any word you want as long as the work itself is censored. They will also be very lenient instead of just outright banning you if you mess up, I got a post suspended once because I forgot to add censorship, but my accounts are still alive despite multiple suspensions.

You also have to avoid using words that hint at incest or loli in the titles, stuff like "Aunt and niece (12) get fucked by a babysitter" has to be more subtle, like "Babysitter's turn". I also avoid using words like loli even inside the work itself, but I think Pixiv is more worried about words that can trigger bots (which doesn't happen if they're inside the images). If all you want is a place to post your work for people to support you, it works great.
