Wayland is fundamentally broken. I won't use it for 2 simple reasons:

  1. All wayland compositors are crashy and super unstable. My Xorg setup can have uptime over one year, while every compositor I tested can't survive one single day.
  2. libinput is a piece of garbage, lacks basic configurations, and every singe wayland compositor depends on it. @AthanSpod@social.linux.pizza

#wayland is so secure that many apps can make wayland compositors crash, so we don't need malware anymore.

Nobody in open source community cares about politics, corporations etc.

We are extremely minor now. Many FOSS project "leaders" care about politics, corporations etc. They don't care about code quality anymore.

Wayback is just a unfinished X11. It supports less hardwares, lacks basic settings like dpms, and it crashes randomly. If you can't leave X11, just use Xorg. @r1w1s1

How systemd mandate age verification: Step 1: make an "optional" column to record every user's birth data. Step 2: control every user's environment variables so they can't opt-out. Step 3: make daemons/apps fail if the age API doesn't return a valid age.

Systemd tried to control every user's personal environment variables, because systemd devs think users are too stupid to set their own env values.

Systemd's evil plan was rejected once, but those evil devs will try it again in the near future.

SonicDE is an KDE fork that focused on X11, but I have no idea if it lands on OpenBSD yet. @RootMoose@mastodon.bsd.cafe

I tested wayback and several wayland compositors, all of them crashes randomly. I never touched systemd and pipewire, I am super happy. :blobcat_mlem: It's sad that Linux newbies become slaves of bad softwares, just like Windows and Mac users. @ex@unseen.name @xt@xtsun.xyz
