@JessTheUnstill@infosec.exchange For me specifically, I was investigating those Turdfergusons and holding them accountable. I was Military Police. But you're so right. And the thing I hated was seeing how wasteful the military is. Especially with money. Pocketbooks were tight until it's closer to the end of the year. Then if we didn't use it, we'd lose it.

@JessTheUnstill@infosec.exchange My field was separate from my MOS. I proved to be at the same proficiency as the supervisors, but was passed up on the open sup/assist manager position. So to make it up to me, they made me the designated trainer. No pay bump. Just more responsibility. They said they didn't know how I'd lead, and if I was going to be "militaristic". I felt pretty defeated after that. Not everyone in the military leads like the movies/books/media portrays that we lead. (I'm sure you're aware of that, just felt the need to say it.)

I used to love going to draft releases or EDH events. But I'm voting with my wallet and attention. It's been almost a decade since I've dropped that hobby. :(

@xgqt Yeah it was pipewire. And the time period was roughly 90 days ago. My mic wouldn't work, I had audio cut out. And I did go through all the Gentoo documentation for pipewire. I scoured the forums and couldn't find anyone with remotely the same issue in respect to software commonality. I needed my desktop to "work" on school work. And audio was a requirement at the time. I was troubleshooting the issue for roughly 5 days IIRC. After that I was done. I've had issues before, but majority of the time I could solve the issue or find the solution within documentation or forums.

@xgqt This is very neat! I had no clue I could pipe in fzf. I'm currently on NixOS just because I had an audio issue I couldn't resolve on Gentoo and just wanted working audio. You're making me want to install Gentoo no bare metal again.

@kev@fosstodon.org Sorry this happened to you. I've only had HORRIBLE experiences with their customer support. They refused any of my documentation and wanted me to do youtube videos for support... I guess "proving" that something is wrong, like my CPU fan just stop spinning, even after replacing the heatsink/fan. Is was so frustrating that I swore to never patron them again. I won't yuck your yum, and I hope you get this solved.
