@canyakker Years ago I was measuring the upper Willamette River by wading the river measuring the flow in sections when I looked up to see an Osprey gliding down the river a few feet above my head. He looked at me with all my equipment and continued on glided on down the river. One reason I loved my career with the USGS. I got to be in (wading) or above (cableways) river measuring and "watching the river run." (Loggins and Messina). It wasn't always fun on hrash, cold, windy winter days but rewards came even then and in warmer weather to remjnd you of peaceful places and good memories.

@ProPublica Courts and states will be the guardrails in 2026 midterm and 2028 presidential elections, but only if Trump and his people abide by courts rulings and states uphold voting standards to ensure fair elections. I'm hopeful but not blind. We'll see in the midterm elections as states, voters, and organizations file lawsuits afterward.

Smart republicans know it's a scheme to steal elections and won't pass court challenges besides hurting republicans with voting groups who lose voters from the SAVE Act. Best hope is democrats sweep 2026 election and with better leadership impeach Trump and put him on Senate trial, and make Trump's last 2 years living hell. But it takes replacing democratic leadership with activists to fight Trump. No Schumer. No Jeffries. No one over 65. We need generational change now!

@BBC@c.im Everyone should ask a bank teller for a real $100 bill whenever they get a Trump signature monopoly money bill. Foreign and US banks should reject them from customers as counterfeit bills. Only a criminal would print $100 bills with Trump's signature.

@jaykuo@universeodon.com It's Spain's airspace. They decide who flies in it. If US violates Spain's order on their airbases by flying missions to Iran, Spain could close their airspace to US military aircraft. Nothing US fan do about it.

@aral@mastodon.ar.al Denmark pledged $€1B for Greenland defense. US has only Thule Air Base in far northwest corner of Greenland. It was established in 1950's as a multi-role base, but mostly surveillance on Soviet Union. It's mostly now a US Space Force base and Arctic research station. It's not equipped for large military air or ground operations with the weather constraints. The commercial airports aren't suitable either.
That said, I'm sure Trump will have an invasion plan. Best solution is leave Greenland alone. They're doing fine without Trump and his plans.

@SeanCasten@mastodon.social It will take work on democrats but Harris stands to potentially win in a landslide, taking most, if not all, swing and key states. Polls aren't showing catagories of voters who will vote in high numbers. These are women from every age group, people of color, and young, often first time, voters. Harris excites these voters for generational change Harris brings and it incentivizes voters against Trump, many republicans and former Trump supporters. Harris could win 55-45%. JMO

@ross@fosstodon.org Two requirements for me, color prints and duplex printing. This printer does neither. Single side printing requires more paper or printing alternate pages on two runs. That's not efficient, especially if you don't get page alignment right to keep page order. My HP 450 DN has been a workhorse for 10+ years no. My previous HP color, duplex printer still work but HP dropped driver to use it.

He dumped the$13B loan on company, so he gets a walk on that, and he can blame advertisers, staff and users for its failure.
