@ryanmcshane@fosstodon.org @JorisMeys@mstdn.social @rstats@a.gup.pe TBH, it seems kind of a bad idea if warnings aren't presented when this happens. I use C++ and in that language, you can override operators, but unless you do that, things behave in a standard way. It seems risky for R to do this.
I don't know though. I've only used the <- operator for the entire time I've used R.
