@dx@social.ridetrans.it @Anibyl@social.coop There are also private credit funds that target projects and firms working with renewables, but I don’t really know if this would really set you up to capture gains in this space… it’d be more like making a standard private credit profit but giving a tiny little hand in making credit available for these companies; kind of like banking with credit unions helps local borrowers.

@dx@social.ridetrans.it @Anibyl@social.coop I think you’d need to buy stocks from the listed Canadian companies in the renewables space - which there seem to be a good few. I don’t think there’s a Canadian-focused ETF for that so you just have to pick and balance your bets yourself. There are global renewables ETFs out there that trade in TSX but I imagine that Canadian companies make a tiny percentage of these

@sebsauvage @peteorrall CoMaps is a great AllTrails alternative! Even if routing is sometimes not perfect because trail mapping quality is dicier, its lightweight maps and good route planning makes it a great choice for light hiking in well known parks!

@FediTips@social.growyourown.services BookWyrm has a great community but overall I find neodb a bit more feature complete and useful as it also supports movies, games etc The only downside is that the content is mostly in Chinese 😅 but other instances like eggplant have more English language user content

@johnvoorhees And Apple Weather is a very decent app in the first place too… so competition has to up their game to even be considered. In fact I still prefer Weather over Mercury because of its fancier animations (the droplet effects are cool) and because I can easily see hourly precipitation data for a future day

@stroughtonsmith@mastodon.social Not saying that it will never get a terminal or any specific feature. But when it gets one, will it really achieve feature parity with the Mac equivalent? Maybe in 10 years? If the iPad takes one step in the right direction every few years and in the meantime PCs also take a step away, I don’t really consider that as movement. I have an iPad and I love it, but I have realistic expectations - it’s a large phone, not a small PC. One day my phone will have IDEs too, sure enough.

@stroughtonsmith@mastodon.social Or is it time for iPad enthusiasts realize that this platform is not going the direction they hoped? It’s not walking towards an open platform. It barely take occasional steps towards a proper workstation; but has there ever been evidence that they’d be interested in surfacing the innards of the OS? They’re going to bet the platform that their main audience does not care about IDEs long term.

@viticci @obsidian LLM-assisted vault + maintaining folders of skills has been a game changer. My only gripe is that the AI Skill standard uses folder names and yaml frontmatter but names all skills as SKILL.md which is not obsidian friendly… but otherwise it’s an awesome combo and materialized knowledge into power
