There is one remaining open issue wrt the certificates: we are currently fixing the issue for all devices running < Android 14.
But what about users with de-googled or third party AOSP based Android versions? Are you getting regular updates of the root certificates (either by the vendor or by other means)?
If you are not, we could provide the same fix for your devices (we don't want to do this for all devices as there is a small start up time penalty that this causes). ...
22.0.2 was just tagged https://github.com/MarcusWolschon/osmeditor4android/releases/tag/22.0.2.0 while this is just a regular monthly update, it does improve the access to some imagery sources for older devices (more root certifcates and TLS 1.3 support).

@tyr@en.osm.town That's quite brave, we've thought about doing that on and off over the years, but have always come to the conclusion that it's too risky, particularly with double/multi tagging.

After the release is before the release.
Since google moved the drop dead date for targeting the latest Android version forward a couple of years back the 2nd major release of the year is mostly about finding out all the surprises that google has for us.
But as always there will be at least some improvements for #OpenStreetMap contributors that we can squeeze in. For example more flexible squaring:
This is what running tests for Vespucci looks like (~80 minutes long). Thanks to @SwissOSM@en.osm.town for lending us a spare machine over the last couple of years.
Maintenence release 22.0.1 https://github.com/MarcusWolschon/osmeditor4android/blob/22.0-MAINT/CHANGELOG.txt has been out for a couple of days, besides the usual monthly updates (imagery sources, presets etc) it addresses a couple of smaller issues. #OpenStreetMap
And V22 has been tagged and will be making its way to usual places over the next couple of days.
