So I reinstalled my desktop with Fedora Silverblue a few days ago.

I can easily say I'm happy with my choice. Once I got a grip on rpm-ostree, including accepting the reboots, getting it in order went really smooth.

Now I can start exploring and learning #toolbx. For sure much more challenging as I am quite the n00b working with containers on that level.

I lock my accounts down as much as possible, and look for dark patterns where - especially commercial - sites try to have questionable defaults. I will obviously have to go through my GitHub settings again to find out what I have missed, or if it was just a glitch for my account.

@Techaltar@mas.to I see a quite similar challenge to understand the differences as it is for UI vs UX, as well as de difference between sympathy and empathy. One important aspect that privacy, UX and empathy shares - is they are highly invisible. As in you have to understand and visualize cause and effect mentally how it is for both oneself and others. And in an all-the-more complex web of pieces that affect each other more or less, and in combinations. That is hard!

@bagder@mastodon.social Reading through your posts about CRA, I think there is a chance for a CRUde awakening for these companies. A reality check even, about how open source actually works. Including having to read the licenses and realizing they use it, for free, on their own risk. Leaving the eat the risk, get a support contract or stop using. So after the initial drama, this could be a good thing for open source in the long run.
