WTF... FedEx is trying to charge me extra fees that are about the same as the total value of the imported goods because there was several different items ...
I mean yeah it was a LCSC order with like 14 different components, total 80 EUR or so and they want an exta 76 EUR or processing fees for the multiple items !?!?!?!
(In addition to the 25 EUR VAT but that I expect ...)
Fuck ... assembled 4 boards with oculink connectors using stencil / oven ... and seems all of them are faulty / bad solder joints on that conncetor and of course it's impossible to rework with some contacts _under_ it ....
I'm looking for a Dataman S4 GAL module ( adapter to program PAL/GAL on the S4 ). It's not a simple wiring adapter it has some logic in it but pictures I have are too low res to build a replica from ...
If you have one or know someone that might, please reach out. Thanks !
Any algo nerd here ?
I got some basic analog elements ( transistors, ... ) and a bunch of analog switches between them ( about 162 of them ).
Then I have a netlist representing a circuit I'd like implemented.
And the question is how do I get from the circuit netlist to a configuration of switches that implements that netlist.
If a configuration exists, I want to find it. Ideally find all of them so I can "rank" them. I can't blindly try all of them, 2^162 is ... big.
So I'm curious what people would like to see next on the PCIe/fiber project :
* Finalizing the PCIe analyzer, running gateware on the alibaba card getting the whole thing in shape for release.
* Or moving the link to x4 using QSFP and raising speed to gen3, delving a bit into PCIe switches ICs and such.
It won't be the very next video in either case, still lots of work to do and I will get to both eventually but I'm wondering what to give priority to.
Just for fun I've been sort of abusing the differential receiver ( clk + data + deserializer ) project that I had in TT08. It occured to me it should work fine for MIPI-CSI. So I wired a RPi v1 camera to it, and capture the deserialized output with a logic analyzer and I can extract image data out of it 🎉
The RPi camera is 2 lanes and I can only capture one, so I'm missing half the data and there are a lot of hacks to compensate for that but ... it's possible to RX MIPI in #tinytapeout !
I need help from the #fediverse to figure out how to configure an OV5647 sensor to output on a single MIPI lane.
The leaked datasheet I have is ... basically useless. The description of the registers doesn't match reality. There are several bits in there related to mipi lanes, none of them act as one expect and the default value of the register doesn't even make sense if you relate it to the datasheet.
So if anyone has a working config, or a contact at omnivision they could ask ...
🎉 New video showing off running PCI express over COTS SFP modules and associated complications along with future plans.
And then a small side quest involving optical splitters and #ngscopeclient
Definitely on the long side, sorry about that 😬 But I hope it's still interesting 🤞
People priding themselves from moving away from OpenAI to Anthropic over the pentagon deal is laughable ...
If they had any ethic they wouldn't be using LLMs trained on stolen work to begin with, the least they could do is assume being asswipes.
