In the last weeks / months I have been building tooling to help keep on top the absolutely mind breaking flood off communications that comes to me over the internet every day. That is in turn giving me (finally) some clear head room to start sharing some of the things I do again. Here is my sprint activity summary for the last two weeks. A gentle note that most of the QGIS commits are automations done in my name and don't neccessarily represent intense effort on my part.

Hello from #kartoza and #QGIS from the GeoSpatial track at #fossdem ! I’ll be hanging out in the geospatial room. All day if anyone want to say hi! And I will be cheering on Dimas who will be presenting our work on BIMS https://kartoza.com/bims, an open source biodiversity information management system.

We are very pleased to be participating in the launch event of FBIS Africa. The project seeks to provide open access to freshwater biodiversity data in Africa and support the visualisation, exploration and long term sustainable management of this data. Great news for #NixOS and nix users wanting to run bleeding edge, unreleased versions of #QGIS As of today you can now simply run this command to run the latest version of #QGIS in git:

nix run github:qgis/QGIS#qgis

Note: When you run this command, it will take a while and your CPU will work hard since it builds everything from source.

📰 #QGIS News: All of the #QGIS web sites just got their menus overhauled!

💁🏽 We hope you find navigating the QGIS web site a little easier with this update. The changes seek to harmonise the menus by grouping things more logically and removing less relevant menu items.
