@yorik @claudius Maybe. But I wasn't so far along anyways. I think just moving the sketches over and starting the rest from scratch might be the least work. Thanks for the immediate community engagement though. Reminded me that my last contribution has been a while. I just sent 42 USD via Paypal to the freecad project.

@claudius Sadly I started a few projects on #freecad link branch which seems to have been abandoned. The files are not compatible with the main branch. But in General freecad development has done leaps in the last few years. Now if only the maintainers of some specialty workbenches could catch up...

@cstross well if we're talking human equivalent then things like greed, the pursuit of power and plain stupidity are still on the table aren't they?

@cstross Well sounds like a good idea for invading a planet. Send them the blueprints for a "send me to heaven"-device that actually just kills them in a way they can't comprehend. A certain percentage of people will fall for it and off themselves. Incidentally many of them would have also been the grunts sent to defend the planet.

Wenn ich ein Buch in der Buchhandlung klaue und erwischt werde dann hilfts vor Gericht auch nicht wenn ich sage dass ich es nur lesen wollte und nicht duplizieren oder weiterverkaufen. Gestohlen ist gestohlen. Und die KI-Firmen verkaufen das Buch weiter. Nur nicht am Stück sondern in Fetzen zusammen mit Fetzen anderer Bücher.
