#dygma Sonsei #keyboard just arrived - sooo much smaller than expected. Unfortunately have to run for a work function so can't play just now.

@yakmoose@cloudisland.nz Multiple ways - one thing I liked about DamnHandly is that UriTemplate.fromTemplate() parsed/validated the template into a UriTemplate class, so you could have fast fail of constants (say in a library package, separate from usage).

Whereas stdtemplate just takes a string, and returns a string - so leaves it all to run time. Sure, I could solve that just adding templates for every uritemplate as a String constant, but if the typesystem could that for me - win!

Tradeoffs I guess. This does keep the API the same between its Go, Java, PHP, Python, Ruby, Rust, Swift, TypeScript versions. It’s part of there design - no reason I couldn't provide my own UriTemplate class that wraps it (also part of there design system):

• no language idiomatic API, only 1 low level primitive - we do encourage language-specific wrapper/alternative libraries

Lazy #java web - what's the go-to (maintained) UriTemplate library these days? Having issues to DamnHandly and modern java immutable maps/lists ( https://github.com/damnhandy/Handy-URI-Templates/issues/79 ) and the project/maintain seems unresponsive - https://github.com/std-uritemplate/std-uritemplate looks good, and is getting (low traffic) maintainance which is good. Any others?

Weird, pushed a commit as a patch update (amended commit ) to my #radicle ref/patches/xxxx ref and…. the patch got closed/merged. Weird.

Stupid #github, have a PR that was approved, force push an update to it with changes, and the PR's stays approved…. excuse me…. you smokin something?

@liw@toot.liw.fi Often reading thu commits, if I'm looking for certain areas of the code it’s kinda nice to search the repo history for keywords, and see what paths pop out, discover the churn, see what tickets are referenced that I can read for more information. Thinking thats something claude/ai could do to summarise - grep the commits, extract ticket references, look up the ticket in YouTrack / GH etc. and summarise recent issue.
