RE: @pluralistic@mamot.fr

"He doesn't need tanks to steal Greenland. He can just shut off Denmark's access to American platforms like Office365, iOS and Android and brick the whole damned country. It would be another Strait of Hormuz, but instead of oil and fertilizer, he'd control the flow of Lego, Ozempic and deliciously strong black licorice"

Damn right, digital sovereignty is Europe's Achilles' heel. It is time we wake up and take this seriously, we cannot remain a vassal state of an unreliable partner like the US.

After two years of development, we're happy to announce Graphs 2.0. It's by far our biggest update yet. We're targeting stable next month, with an official beta period in the meantime.

Highlights include proper equation support with an infinite canvas, a redesigned style editor with live preview, error bars, SQLite & spreadsheet support and much more.

Any feedback is welcome :)

For more information on the changes or how to get the beta, see: https://blogs.gnome.org/sstendahl/2026/04/14/announcing-the-upcoming-graphs-2-0/

Announcing the upcoming Graphs 2.0

It's been a while since we last shared a major update of Graphs. We've had a few minor releases, but the last time we had a substantial feature update was over two years ago. This does not mean that d

I don't remember exactly who it was, but someone mentioned the Authenticator app a while ago on Mastadon so I gave it a shot.

It's been the single biggest digital QoL improvement I've had in a looong time. Just press meta, type in sst (first letters of my username in my GNOME SSO), press enter. Boom, it copies my 2FA code to clipboard.

It's so convenient, takes away all the hassle from 2FA. So much nicer than taking out my phone all the time and typing it over.

It's pretty cool how useable GNOMEOS is nowadays. Apart from the issue I had earlier when combining multiple NVMe drives, everything's been smooth sailing so far.

Will stick to Fedora at work, but the idea right now is to keep using this on my daily driver on my personal machine. (Last summer I tried it for a month)

@david @pojntfx I was mostly thinking of NLWallet, which is actually government backed/owned. As far as I know it’s ZKP, and it’s even open-ish (not GPL, but at least source-available). You can build it from source yourself. But I’m not as knowledgeable on the matter as @pojntfx, so I could absolutely be missing something here on the implementation of zero knowledge here. See their GitHub page here: https://github.com/MinBZK/nl-wallet

@pojntfx Honestly I will remain off the opinion the digital wallets are by itself a good idea, and could potentially be more privacy-friendly than traditional methods (thanks to granular sharing of information) and lessen dependence on big tech (the alternative is namely that the private market will do this). Having said that, that’s only if implemented right. A dependency on Google Play services is worrying, and shows we still haven’t learned anything from the past years.
