@Fischblog@chaos.social Wir haben uns gerade das Spektrum Kompakt Long Covid & ME/CFS zuschicken lassen und es gefällt uns sehr gut. Unsere Idee ist es, es als argumentatorische Bewaffnung gegenüber Ärzten zu benutzen, die die Krankheit nicht verstehen. Gibt es bei euch Mengenrabatt? Wie viel würden 50, 100, 500 davon kosten? Kann man euch auch Listen von Adressen schicken, an die ihr dann liefert? (Pharmakonzerne schicken ja auch die ganze Zeit ungefragt Sachen an Ärzte, ich sehe da jetzt keine rechtlichen Probleme da als Kampagne ungefragt Infomaterial zuzusenden.)

Hi all, for our solar installation and the heat pump upgrade I need to move the devices into a dedicated subnet to accommodate future shelly devices with static ip addresses. And I do not want the ips to get lost in case one of the tenants (the whole house is rented to 3 parties) resets their router. Thus, I am planning to use a banana PI to do a NAT-NAT and assign static IPs this way. Local communication is also ensures this way in case the Ethernet connection drops and I can upgrade to a failover Internet configuration at any time. Now the big question: which model? Ich (bzw. wir) brauchen Hilfe. Meine Partnerin hat seit einigen Jahren praktisch Dauerstreit mit einer Krankenkasse. Ich habe jetzt einen Fall, bei dem die Krankenkasse vorgelegte Informationen ignoriert, auf ihr Formular pocht und jetzt viel zu viel Geld verlangt, da das Formular nicht ausgefüllt wurde. Ich habe für alle Angaben oben schriftliche Nachweise. Es sollte eigentlich sehr einfach sein, daraus einen Fall zu machen (oder zu sehen warum man keinen Fall daraus machen kann). Das Problem: keine Kanzlei "hat Zeit dafür". Kennt jemand hier eine Kanzlei bzw Anwaltsperson, die für solche Fälle Zeit haben? Stichworte: GdB, ME/CFS, Erwerbsunfähigkeitsrente. @momo@social.linux.pizza nachdem ich den Artikel nochmal genauer gelesen habe: Die Senkung der Förderung sieht für mich gerade nicht ganz so tragisch aus. Ich denke der erste Effekt wird sein, dass die Angebote, die aktuell viel zu teuer sind, mit der Senkung der Förderung "mit gehen" und im Endeffekt Geld sparen werden. Aktuell wird ja auf maximalen Zuschuss optimiert, was nicht Sinn und Zweck des Ganzen ist. Selbst bei uns, wo wir eine Lambda Wärmepumpe geplant haben, eines der teuersten und besten Geräte, würde der Zuschuss auch nach der Senkung noch komplett greifen.

I think large language models and the cost assigned to them is the reckoning of our terrible closed data mindset when it comes to providing useful APIs. Why? Most of the times they "fix" a system that is broken from the beginning. Someone recently showed me a system he set up. Truck drivers send a picture of a bill. The bill is then analyzed and the data inside fed into a database and further processed. He did this with around 1k€ investment and less than 100€ power bill. In contrast, an "AI Company" offered to do this for 1.5k€ a month. First, I thought, neat. Nice use case. He told me it is not perfect, but good enough, it saves some time. Then I though more about it. The data is there in a machine readable context. It was converted into a bill, then a picture, then back to machine readable data for further processing. What would it take to make the original data available. E.g. with a qr code containing a JSON string. Then it hit me. I put myself into a pre-LLM hype mind. Very simple features like this QR code are incredible valuable. They save so much time and they would help everyone involved in the whole process. But the problem is: they are also very easy to implement. Turning billing data, quantity of items into a json string is a 1 hour job. An you don't want to sell this as a one hour feature, or god forbid, offer it for free. Instead it would become an expensive feature with a subscription or a per-bill fee. Something prices based on the *usefulness* and not based on the actual cost for implementation. And now back to the present with LLMs. And here comes the most ridiculous part. We are fixing an issue that would be very easy to fix by embracing an open data mindset by wasting kilowatt hours of energy every month. Think about this, a feature that would take about one hour to implement ONCE has been blown up to take a couple of extra Watt hours every single time a bill is being processed. And in the end, as I was told, the LLM isn't even perfect and keeps confusing 6's and 8's.

Heute habe ich das Stück "Mephisto" im @theaterulm@xn--baw-joa.social gesehen, volle Empfehlung.

Die Art und Weise, wie die vierte Wand gebrochen wird, aber dann doch nicht, da es ja u.A. um ein Theater geht. Die parallelen zur aktuellen politischen Lage. Die Thematisierung, dass "schweigend zusehen" ebenfalls eine politische Aktion ist, usw usw.

@C_Ottenburg Jetzt mal ganz davon abgesehen, dass sich Kinder auch irgendwann mal als erstes Anstecken werden und das wirklich ziemlich problematisch ist, dass wir das als selbstverständlich hinnehmen und nicht daran arbeiten, das zu verhindern. Bevor man mir das vorwirft: nein, ich bin nicht für Maskenpflicht. Ich bin dafür dass in Schulen, Kindergärten, Supermärkten, also überall wo viele Menschen aufeinander treffen vernünftige Luftfilter eingebaut werden und damit die Pandemie endlich eingedämmt wird.

@C_Ottenburg Die Zahl der Infektionen gehen aber nicht zurück. Im Gegenteil, seit die Pandemie für vorüber erklärt wurde, ist die Infektionszahl sprunghaft angestiegen und die Wellen sind noch genau so stark wie vorher. Sieht man ja an dem anhaltenden Krankenstand, Schulausfällen, etc.

Trumps Niederlage ist gut, aber dass der Iran jetzt Zoll auf die Lieferungen erheben will ist ziemlich gefährlich. Wenn das Regime dadurch stabilisiert und legitimiert wird, dann wird am Ende die Bevölkerung nur mehr darunter leiden.

Trump failing is nice, but Iran taxing the shipments through the straight of Hormuz ist not desireable at all. Stabilizing and legitimizing the regime will only make the Iranian people suffer more.

@isotopp@infosec.exchange AFAIK werden die neu geplanten Gaskraftwerke genau so konzipiert. Wenige Tage im Jahr Betrieb und Finanzierung der Bereitstellung durch Umlagen und nicht durch Verkauf des erzeugten Stromes. Von der Ampel geplant und stillschweigend von der Groko weiter geführt.
