Watching bugalugs (22 this year), who’d previously only played open world games, finish Bastion in a single weekend, complete with sobbing when they realised what the ending meant, was a formative parenting moment for me.

I couldn’t recall the name of the Supreme Master, founder of the Quan Yin method, franchiser of vegan restaurants that uses a rather memorable yellow in some of their branding, various other accolades. So I searched for “vegan cult,” and was rather amused that the first hits were for the Zizians, a branch of rationalist that identify as “vegan anarchotranshumanists,” and linked to six murders, so far.
Good stuff, happy to see that the phrase is now more likely to be associated with effective altruist weirdos than cheap, good food (with a side of cult TV as background noise).
Pretty much a year ago today I had to organise emergency accommodation for myself any big bugalugs, I’ve been couch hopping between friends’ places and house sitting (mostly by choice as fuck renting when I can opt out of it), while big bugalugs found a good share house. Unfortunately owners are selling the house they’re in, so I’m having to again sort out expensive emergency accommodation for them (as the cheaper one I’d already organised fell through). Fuck I love the housing situation in this country.
