Not being either of those myself, I imagine that if I was, I’d probably choose my words very intentionally and with great care, and maybe that would make them feel rehearsed. How would that make me dishonest, though? And where do the management self-help books factor in?

Before I got properly diagnosed with RLS I used to think - for years, if not decades - that probably everyone feels like that, that it couldn’t possibly have been a big deal, and that being so tired all the time (on account of dogshit sleep quality) must be a moral failing of mine. Holy shit, does that fuck with your head. That neurologist 16 years ago may have quite literally saved my life - my sanity at least.
