I'm late to the #Plex vs #Jellyfin discourse, but I've seen a few people mention struggling or complexity accessing their @jellyfin@mastodon.online remotely and that being a blocker.
You don't need to have a URL, deal with portforwarding and the like to use Jellyfin when away from home. Just install @tailscale@hachyderm.io on your server and your viewing device. Done. 'Just works'.
And because it's a private network, only devices registered on your network can access your Jellyfin server by default which helps mitigate against Jellyfin CVEs. The only issue is if you need to have a VPN on at all times, you'll need to split tunnel your Jellyfin viewing client, but that's the only issue I've had.
Hope it saves a few people some hair pulling and $$$ on domain buying, and join the #FOSS, privacy respecting side of media servers
