If your world doesn't sing, how is it going to strike a chord in the heart of the audience? Interesting to see how people have responded to the original Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. Bitterblack Isle is quite light on any kind of story, realistically. You get a handful of dialogue sequences and a 17 page written story. However, there is a link through the main narrative and Dark Arisen established by the leitmotif in Eternal Return that seems to grab people well beyond the teeny tiny bit of story that's actually present. I think about how the Lay of the Immortals (in-universe) and the leitmotif from Memoro de la Ŝtono ties the original trilogy of Vana'diel together too. Or the way Naoshi Mizuta used the Prelude and Theme of Final Fantasy to create a yearning and nostalgic sense in Forever Today. Music is so important! As it turns out, finasteride can be uniquely toxic to some people, since it's both an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor and also prevents the formation of various neurosteroids which would otherwise buffer against the toxic effects. I'm going off it to preserve my memory, as it's been very seriously impaired lately.

The flipside is I'm talking to my GP about doing adjunct progesterone with my CPA, and this could potentially improve my neurosteroid status! Very excited to continue doing mad science on myself.

@rasterweb@mastodon.social also, it's beyond liking or disliking, and the tech leaders framing it as simply aversion and distaste are either disingenuous or completely out of touch. due to the culture I was raised in, I don't "dislike" the planet burning and the violent pollution of people's air, it's a violation of my most deeply held values about our bond with the land and duty of care to other people; and of course there are many more just like me that must wear this terrible sadness and anger at the callousness on display.
