Today is supposedly the #heatwave peak here in France. And having had almost two full weeks of above 35°C and very warm nights means that the 55cm thick stone walls are bunking masses of heat and it will take days to cool down a bit indoors. But then most of July is announced to stay above 25°C, more like 28°C. It also means little and only low quality sleep with regular migraines. This is definitely my most intense heatwave, yet. And I fear it’s only the beginning 😥. #climateemergency

OMG 😱, I forgot #caturday yesterday! Was too busy tiling the kitchen. But cooling off my swollen feet inspired Josette to a new water source. Because why (ever) drink out of a bowl of fresh water when you can have flower pots, puddles or feet water?!

My jaw dropped and I can’t get over the fact that teenage boys raping girls get away with a fine that is less than a parking ticket. What are we teaching them? That there are no consequence to fear! Unbelievable 😡

@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu Just yesterday I was informed by my health insurance they gave all my data to a third party that got hacked. They don’t know what really got stolen or who is affected. Potentially the criminals now have my address, email, login, phone, social security no, and sensitive health data! Will the company even be fined, as long as they declared the issue? While worst case I will be dealing with fraud attempts for years… I am all for GDPR, but it needs to be enforced and strengthened!

@ShaulaEvans „Gedöns“, a German dialect word from Cologne, describing „things“ in a slightly derogatory manner. Maybe comparable with „stuff“ but not limited to physical objects. It can also describe over the top thoughts or anything that really is more in the way than necessary. In English I would also say „serendipity“. I haven’t found an equivalent in other languages to describe this beautiful circumstantialness.

@boostmarks Very interesting points. I became an in-house expert because it was a legal obligation to pass an audit. Loved the topic and was really happy to improve the app significantly that way. External consultants helped our team and trained us. While the software that is exposed was then compliant, all their internal services and products were completely failing on basic levels - and not just for people with diagnosed disabilities. People forget, it makes services better for everyone!

But public transport should be seen as a public service and not a commercial success primarily, IMO. Even in a very remote area in D would there at least be a bus once in a while. Here there is just nothing. We are trying French countryside without a car and it is a real challenge, even along a „major“ TER line, which half the time is out of order with zero replacement.
