Imagine of of those. I suspect they're around 50 kg, then a 25 kg child and an 75 kg grownup speeding along at 25 km/h... If they hit a pedestrian that pedestrain is at least severely injured.

But mainly the exorbitant speeds and the increased weight of those endangering other cyclist and pedestrians. The battery is for making riding a bike effortless. Not more dangerous. That's why I also hate the 'bakfiets' fad of the last five years.

@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu what about banning e-bikes, pedelecs, fatbikes and bakfietsen. They are way too fast and way to heavy to be considered safe in a cycling network and do exactly nothing to improve the general health of the EU population.
