What a week! We couldn’t have asked for a stronger partner than Stanford’s Open Source team as we continue to expand our training offerings. It’s an honor to work alongside such an inspiring network of Python experts and emerging contributors alike. The momentum is real, and we’re just getting started!

We’re proud to collaborate with Stanford’s Open Source team on Ship It: Python Packaging for Research Software in the Generative AI Era. This course brings together Python experts to deliver asynchronous training that strengthens how research software is built, packaged, and shared—advancing sustainability, usability, and real-world impact in an evolving AI landscape.

Your #Python package only needs 3 core things:
✅ A src/packagename directory
✅ A pyproject.toml file
✅ A unique package name
It does NOT need to:
❌ Solve everyone's problems — do one thing well
❌ Be on PyPI immediately — GitHub/Codeberg is a great start
If your code solves a problem for you, it can help others.
