Does anybody know who is running roman-britain.co.uk these days? There's no attribution pages anymore I can find and old http URIs are being incorrectly redirected to URIs beginning with "localhost" plus other concerns. I'd love to be able to email someone about this. The context is I'm trying to update references in the #PleiadesGazetteer that are now taking users to brokenness. Boosts appreciated.

Unlike the units of time grounded by historical context that are commonly recorded in formal inscriptions, Text 19 presents a sequence of dates with calendrical intervals as a mathematical exercise associated with idealised numbers. @wendigo@metalhead.club apologies if you know this already, but fwiw the river that flows through Heidelberg is known today as the "Neckar". I'm no expert on archaic German spelling, nor on dialect or just immigration-error variation, but it occurs to me that "Nicar" could well be a variant spelling of that name, implying I'd imagine an origin in the vicinity of Heidelberg or the associated river valley.

Thank goodness for Pauly. But also the various Wikipedia articles are rather good, it's just that the Wikidata links out to Pleiades were all confused and some of the links from the Pleiades entries to Wikidata and Wikipedia similarly crossed wires (but not reciprocally). And Pleiades didn't have a separate entry at all for the little province of Assyria that Trajan seems to have created during his military adventure in Mesopotamia.

/me emerges from the Tedious Cyberswamp of Detangling Pleiades, Wikidata, and Wikipedia entries and cross-links for the Assyrian Empire, Region of Assyria, and Trajanic Roman Province of Assyria to try to remember what he was doing when he stumbled across the rats' nest. #AAH2026 was a fantastic conference. Uniformly engaging and knowledge-expanding papers, excellent timing with extended breaks for informal interaction, good venues. Huzzah to the organizers and all presenters.
