Started to feel some burnout accumulation from the yak shaving, so spent evenings at "Warframe".
This game very efficiently maps to my distraction points and given amount of content that is slowly dripping with updates there is always something interesting to do. And endless grind for stuff is part of the game.
Game also have some predatory "pay to remove wait" mechanics. I will not defend those, but I am able to resist most of those.

And another attack by car in Berlin.
I understand that people will find ways to hurt other people, but I will be very much like for cars to be banned from public spaces.
I also understand that it would be very hard logistical and economical task and yet it is a task that need to be done.

The yak-shaving of Eclipse IDE adoption slowly continues.

I now have #babashka scripts that I can call through the Eclipse "External Tools". This is step 0 done.

So now I have a foundation of simple system that works (for me), it is time to start to build the complex part...

And for some reason, every time, this involves recreating an functional "Either" type.

"Coding is not creative activity" say a lot of people who hate coding and would like for it to be more menial and manual task that can be done by easily interchangeable people.

"I like the message that this code is making, but the form can be improved" this is me multiple times in the last months during the code review.
Cause I really like to see other people voices and their approach to the problem which is quite often completely different from mine.

I like to read people and not AI slop

Okay #babashka is very cool and *also* now provide a useful and readable errors.

I don't know, yet, why it is unable to resolve io alias here, but that is beside the point.
The overall look and feel from the error reporting is amazing.

The stack/error traces in #clojure is one of the known pain points and #babashka is showing a good example of how this can be improved. I know that this is complex problem to solve in #clojure
A big thanks to all #babashka contributors.

And I don't see the good solution for this problem in the broken corporate IT development systems. Those systems are not designed to produce software. Those systems design to maximise CEO profits and shift blame to the future. Sit on this riverbank long enough and you will see the skeleton rafts of broken promises crash on the shallow of reality. "This is not my problem, yet"

There is a trap although of setting up bunch of builds and then ignoring their results and pretending that nothing bad is happening. And this trap is setup for people who start to look and who have a broken internal self regulation. People who feel obligated to fix the problem, again due to broken internal motivation. It is very hard for me to ignore such broken things, mostly because they will be a mine problem in the future. This happend much more than once, so it will happen again.

This is for me the power of CI/CD pipelines. They represent a constant set of watching eyes. Those cybernetic eyes are not ideal, but they are better than no eyes at all. This is also match my other assumption that if stuff is not watched it start to rot.

The recurring issue in my day work is that I continuously find stuff that is not working but other people have expectation of "it" to work.
And today I have a thought: "Could it be that people just ignoring those things?" Cause I only notice when I start looking.

@jacqueline this is literally my thought problem a month ago. "Should I configure my Emacs to be my IDE?" Cause existing IDE is fallen beyond the floor and happily scratching the walls instead of doing a job it supposed to do

Question: How much stories of "AI agent wiped all our production databases" will be enough for people in charge to put a ban on using this "AI"?

And the answer is too many. People in charge don't care... until this not impact their compensation. And when it does the problem will be going rugswept as operator error.

The not so funny process of the BigTech feeding their feet and hands to the enabling and always smiling shreder, because the market and shares, will continue.

@GossiTheDog From article, minister quote: "and we have process in place to make sure that we ensure the resiliency of our financial systems" Let's spend money on creating new throwaway process instead of supporting already existing ones. If all banking corporations looks alike then I can surely say that resident processes exist, but they largely are on couple of person shoulders and ignored by Corp C-level as it isn't shiny.

@spiralganglion@merveilles.town a) tell the story. Retell it using less words. Repeat until you can't remove words. Try to sing your story only using vowels. Now you have a lyric melody that you can play around. And match with music or other way around. c) Encumbered forever by desire and ambition There's a hunger still unsatisfied Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon Though down this road we've been so many times Pink Floyd, High Hopes.

@sjn@chaos.social which one would I buy? The quality of the product do not equate to using AI or not using it. But using AI equate to labor exploitation on the bigger scale. And quite probably signal about other unethical practices of the people in the management (or other) chains of the product. So given the choice I would spend my money on the one without the sticker.
