I need some way of politely explaining to the AI eaters how weird and uncomfortable it is to be talking about designing systems with certain properties regarding determinism and correctness, and have one of them butt in to say, “Did you know you can have AI do it and you’ll probably only have to fix all the mistakes it makes? And it’ll be even better at some point!”

@alexr@tilde.zone shortly after this exchange, Christine texted me that an ice cream truck was playing “Waltzing Matilda.” We put the two halves of this together and she now asserts that ice cream is a waltz

I try not to be glibly, superficially dismissive, but they make it real difficult sometimes.
