Cabin in the valley #ArtFight revenge for KBDraws92 featuring their cool and relatably reclusive dragon lady Mirana. I started the month strong managing to keep it simple for two whole attacks, but couldn't resist the urge to paint a whole-ass landscape with this one lol

@bestiaexmachina Cool, thanks! There's actually an HTML tag called that just makes a dropdown toggle like that for you, no tricks necessary :D I don't think I'll be needing to borrow code (I'd have to do some work to adapt it to my static site generator anyway) but I appreciate the offer

Changing up the way I delete old posts (autodelete still after a month, but now the only exception is manually made bookmarks, which I'll go back and delete after a year or so to save space on the server), and my old intro was well over a year old, so I took that excuse to put some recent favorites on display

The Finnish language doesn't make a difference between "solitude" and "loneliness", which is funny to me because we're like, the people who invented enjoying being alone :P And it's a pretty limiting omission - having spent the vast majority of my adult life alone and continuing to do so for the foreseeable future, I know very well how wide the spectrum between healing solitude and crushing loneliness is, but both are just the negatively charged "yksinäisyys" in Finnish

Solitude

A little painting for an upcoming exhibition organized by the local university students' art club. The theme for it is "emotions", and naturally I chose my favorite of them all: that sense of absolute peace you can only feel when completely alone and in no hurry to go anywhere or do anything

@bestiaexmachina Totally agree with all of this. One feature I wish Mastodon had was different autodelete time delays for different types of posts - I keep sufficiently popular art posts around so that new folks can see what I do from my media tab, but I'd love if I could set those to go away after, say, a year to save space on the server. But I never got around to thinking through it enough to make it a feature request :neocat_up: Maybe I should just manually delete old stuff from time to time

Mutta sitten kun miettii, että mitä jos sellaisia olisi, niin heti herää kysymys, että millä ihmeen ajalla? Työt on pakko tehdä ja itsestään ja kodistaan huolehdittava, ja vapaa-ajan harrastukset on niin tärkeitä onnellisuuden lähteitä että en niistäkään mielelläni tinkisi. Joten ehkä tää on kuitenkin paras, mihin rajallinen ihminen äärellisessä maailmassa pystyy.
