Cyclists are always talking about the need for more traffic calming.
We're excited to unveil our new upgrades to Bryant Avenue!

While most MetroTransit displays are operational again, some continue to show errors.

Council Member Chowdhury has asked that we find ways to inject whimsy into street maintenance projects.
We put our thinking caps on and realized that if there's no budget to bring whimsy to Public Works, then we'll just have to bring Public Works to the whimsy.
That's why tonight's marching band spectators were able to witness the surprise interruption of:
Three Public Works staff with leaf blowers.Three pickup trucks. Two street sweepers.Three more guys with leaf blowers. One garbage pusher. One garbage scooper truck. One dump truck.
We'll be starting new street construction projects in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to see which event we interrupt next!

Now that the wildfire smoke is gone, we want your feedback on the Vision Zero pilot program.
While the smoke did substantially reduce visibility during the pilot, we are disappointed that it did not, in fact, reach zero.
Following up on the pilot program, we have included a number of pro-car, pro-pollution policies in the next draft of our Vision Zero plan. We are confident that these proposals will make progress towards zero visibility on Minneapolis streets.
You can read and comment on the new Vision Zero plan on our website.

@jima@mspsocial.net @Unlikelylass@mspsocial.net We'd love to look into where the money is going, but the police department is $16 million over budget on salaries alone. We simply don't have the resources to investigate without incurring further overtime charges.
We refer you to ex-police chief Brian O'Hara's testimony about the budget overages for further explanation.

@riotmuffin@ni.hil.ist
@riotmuffin@ni.hil.ist You may submit street light outages to us, in addition to 311. For a faster response, we recommend reviewing the following guide for DIY street light repair.
Regarding street design concerns, please note that the mayor's office is only responsible for both the design and implementation of city projects. This is why we must deflect responsibility to city council. You are more than welcome to submit unhinged conservative grievance to Elizabeth Shaffer. She will be more than happy to it into the microphone at the next city council meeting.

@silberfuchs@social.edist.ro @edistro@social.edist.ro As you know, Mayor Frey is very busy and may not be able to respond to all media inquiries.
Instead, you may refer to his press conferences in January for his statements scolding his constituents for protesting the ICE occupation. Or, his national media tour afterwards, where he takes credit for the response to the occupation.
Of course, comments about the mayor's personal account will need to be directed to him.

City of Minneapolis is joining the fediverse!
Stay tuned for news and... actually, about that. The police department is over budget again and we couldn't afford the extra staff in our communications department.
Bottom line: fedi can have a parody account, as a treat.
