@reijomancer@defcon.social yeah… I’m still in the process of accepting Microsoft has it’s *.microsoft tld… I mean it’s even easier to block but woah… I was naive to think tld were not for sale. Next a dot pizzahut !? Maybe it’s not absurd, but for me it is… what about net neutrality in NameServers ? Aw. Anyway. What a time to be alive.

@alicetragedy it's basically this: X project need Y thing. That thing is not my job but someone's' else. This other person won't do it and don't care. The project can't work without it. I tell my director and he don't care. So I do it; the project needs it and I love what I do. I'm a lead dev doing director, project owner and infra stuff I was like the frog in boiling water. Now I know. I'm in the process to either forcing things to changes or changing job.

@dubstar_04 woah it's worst than I thought. I had an Xperia X and XA2 without these issues for years. So the situation got less better over the years... Hm... Thanks for the responses. I wonder if it's the same for the other supported phone.

@joe9nf @chrastecky @dubstar_04 @furilabs Yeah. I had this opinion too for a while but it's not true anymore. Lipstick-jolla-home (homescreen app) is proprietary while the UI (Lipstick) is open-source. Furilabs and Jolla phones run on LibHybris using proprietary (made for Android) drivers. I think both SailfishOS and FuriOS are better than any AOSP derived projects 🙂 they both have a lot of good things in common.

@dubstar_04 I'm thinking about buying a Xperia III to install SailfishOS on it. What kind of instability issues did you have ? Was it only android support issues or even basic call / sms / battery issues ? Sorry if I'm asking too much ^^'

@maaretp Yep. When I say I’m self-taught I always emphasize about how I was lucky there was open sourced material and strangers willing to help me online. On the other side someone I don’t particularly like is a doctor who think made it all alone and is in no one’s debts: he used a free university system paid by everyone for more than 10 years then cry when the government might be asking to help in « zero doctors area » in France…
