yesterday March 15 was #longcovid awareness day.
we're in the 7th year of the ongoing, mass-disabling pandemic (which has already killed tens of millions of people).
symptoms of long covid can last years. there is no treatment available.
repeated infections don't "build immunity", they make it more likely to get long covid. normalizing getting infected hurts everyone.
the virus is still airborne. a tightly-sealed (K)N95 mask/respirator continues to be effective.

i would add that native apps are simply out of reach for most indie devs and small teams. that is unless they're ok with deliberately locking themselves into a single platform/ecosystem.
until progressive web apps become actually viable, building native apps using web tech is the most pragmatic approach. the amount of extra work required to go from a cross-platform pseudo-native app to individual fully-native apps is hard to justify.

@swithinbank i've thought about the home media server too. but i want my music to be available when i'm out and about, and i'm just not going to expose my home network. not until i deeply understand how to make it secure (which just sounds like homework).
i also really like the "offline" aspect of a dedicated music player. it's refreshingly old school.
