Did my first ever blood draw today. Yes, yes, I know that's wild for your mid 30s, but no doctor ever requested it before.
Anyway, I hate needles and I hate blood. Everyone re-assured me that it'll be fine, the phlebotomist will be nice, and it'll be over before I know it.
It was neither fine and she was not nice. It was over quickly.
She had zero bedside manner, didn't even greet me like a person just belted out "Orders," "Signature Here," "Which arm?" and when I told her it was my first ever blood draw she went "Are you going to pass out on me????" in a super mean girl voice.
Still, managed to do it without passing out though I did feel woozy.
Got home, checked my lab portal because something was telling me I should, and she straight up didn't enter 20% of the tests I need, including the most important one.
I am fucking pissed, and people wonder why I have such anxiety when it comes to medical care.
