Ok, tested on pairs of Sonys, Sennheisers, Boses. Default stack in Pipewire [edit: through BT audio, at least - all I have at the moment] in Fedora 42 seems to output just a little hot somewhere early.
I do not know how to diagnose or troubleshoot that.
All I really know to do is install Easy Effects and hope it digs its claws in deep enough to calm it down.

@rose@berlin.social If it were later, it would be less a gendered thing (it would just be framework-heavy/anti-css vs. whatever is left of... not that).
But especially around then - that I've learned from folks like betsythemuffin, Sara Soueidan; and wish knew then - when frameworks were taking over and 'full stack' was becoming the thing, it was very much a pushing out of women in the frontend space.

@mia AGREE HEAVILY. Encountered something recently with a FAQ entry so hostile and belligerent toward using raw/native web tech that... I got fucking incandescent.
It was less that one little scrap of text and more knowing that that's likely the prevalent mindset out there.
Nobody needs goddamn webpack just to noodle with web stuff. Hell, technically not even to make an extremely complex and performant site/app.

Like - I've never really felt widespread, reciprocated class solidarity in my life, but this is the first time I've felt ACTIVE BETRAYAL by people I know are capable of knowing, doing, empathizing better.
