I'd rather be suspect of anyone responding here stating brand so-and-so is (still) great, as if supplanting brands would solve the bigger issue?

@detritus @sarahdalgulls I spelled it "Impressum" (with a capital I) because by German law, German websites are required to disclose who and where they are. Since you are joining from a .eu TLD, I assumed you knew about that.

@AlexanderVI @crouton @sarahdalgulls Speaking of footwear, the same is now happening for work shoes. HAIX shoes now last half a year, for example. The shop will pay, right? Work shoes that last a previously quite normal two to three years are rare.

Last time I tried the mail feature and connected it to my locally hosted (literally localhost) IMAP, it apparently tried to download/index/parse every last one of the many hundreds of thousamds of my stored e-mails, instead of just getting IMAP folders and message headers. I seem to recall I had to kill -9 it to regain control of the system. Might this have changed recently?

@dalias @paulywill @pluralistic I still have no idea what you hold against the guy, but you seem to have latched onto something you care deeply for, even if it escapes me entirely what that is. I am in this loop now because I posted that hashtag(?) so let's see that through. I have watched Louis's laptop repair videos on YouTube for more than a decade, and I am still kind of interested in his recent work on battling companies that want to block the #righttorepair . That is it for me, really.
