@jef Where on earth does someone find this out? Do ex agents really talk so freely about this kind of thing? Truly curious @Remittancegirl

@KraftTea@mastodon.social Do you have a link to the original article? I searched on AEI and NBC but couldn't find it. I have trouble reading the screenshots but am interested in what you shared.

@Colarusso@mastodon.social So funny I have the same photo on my phone from my visit to Boston in early March. Guessing a lot of people do.

@scottsthoughts@better.boston The USS Midway museum, walking distance, is amazing and highly recommended. Plan on a good 4 hours on board and look into booking a tour early. Take the trolley to Little Italy in the evening for dinner. The ferry to Coronado would be good for dinner too. Definitely don't miss Balboa Park.

@scottsthoughts@better.boston I'd be happy to help... Are you here for a few days on vacation? Are you staying downtown? I can get more specific with recommendations. Food: most cheap Mexican places are great, and there's good sushi on every corner. San Diego is known for fish tacos. Nature: Torrey Pines or the Glider Port for Ocean view hikes that end up on the beach. History: Balboa Park and its museums and the zoo, which lives up to its reputation and one of the world's best. The Hotel del Coronado is a tourist favorite. Old Town has good food (if a bit touristy) and history. I use our transit a lot but it's waaay more limited than the T in Boston. You could take it to the Mexican border if you intend to cross for the day, or up the coast to Carlsbad for a different experience (small but vibrant beach town). I'll narrow it down some more if you want to provide more context about what you'd like to see or how much time you have.
