Do not expect a consistent themes on posts. However, expect antifascism and tech stuff. also expect post in German and English. Other then that, there will be interesting things, things I was curious or amused about in that moment and also totally irrelevant stuff :)

Oh, how I hate it, when online portals offer a subscription for extra content and support and then additionally add a fee to become ad-free. Thinking hard to cancel such services.

Please give people positive feedback (aka praise) to acknowledge them and their actions. Please do not only give feedback if something could be done better or a person misbehaves. But please be honest and do not give any feedback out of pity. Also, if you can, tell people about the positive feedback you have gotten. And if you got told some, be happy for that persons and try not to diminish it. Like knowledge, sharing of positive experiences grow when shared. (1/2)

@llorenzin Thank you so much for sharing. Even with the dire truth in it it was a nice read. I loved the way the picture was painted so vividly.

Yesterday was labour day. One of the prevalent topics I overheard discussed during a march and later were:

Should productivity gains not lead to us working less, producing the same stuff for the same price? Freeing us from work getting more dense all the time?

Another one was along the lines: Why are we producing faster and more of the things no one needs an wants?

Both very important questions in my view. Both topics no political discussion is about.

@kenny_baas@mastodon.social In my former project we did discuss architecture in the whole team when we started, agreed on principles and minimal, enforceable rules. It was a bliss and never felt like overhead. In my current project, one person had something in mind, never wrote it down and never communicated it. To make matters worse, they were not used to discussion of architecture (and some other things) in the team. I can say: no architecture is no fun. Also no discussion on it does not help.

@TestPappy@mstdn.social keeps writing about the fears and issues I share before I find the time to articulate them myself.

https://testpappy.wordpress.com/2026/04/11/are-ai-coding-agents-the-new-heroes-and-why-thats-not-a-compliment/

> Sustainable teams distribute load. They share knowledge. They build redundancy, not dependency. They design robust processes. When you let an AI agent become the central producer, you’re not building a stronger team. You’re building a fragile one with a shiny new single point of failure.

@pheonix On that note: I just heard someone questioning if you want to run potential dangerous files through cli tools. The output may hold ANSI escape sequences, reposition your cursor, overwrite security questions and make you answer a fake question instead which may lead to overwrite of some critical files or similar.

Just finished reading "Threat modeling" by @adamshostack@infosec.exchange

Thank you for that book. As far as I can judge it is really helpful for me to wrap my head around the topic. Also thank you for including not only methodology but also general advice on how to introduce it (or other things) in an organisation and facilitate it.

It was a good read. I really enjoyed it.

Finally, I found the time to write and publish my summary of #osco25

It felt good writing it down, especially the non-chronological part ;)

RE: @lisihocke@mastodon.social

It was such a wonderful conference. Thank you and your fellow organisers so much for creating this space!

Reading this blog article just let me re-live part of it. Can't wait for next year :)

Just a quick thought about open spaces:

OpenSpace conferences like #socrates and #osco feel like enabling conferences. They bring you into contact with like minded people, let you try yourself in various situations like presenting, taking part, asking questions. They also bring you into contact with seasoned speakers and facilitators. And all persons are willing to learn and teach.

I plan to bring some training locks and a simple #lockpicking set with me to @OSCo@infosec.exchange. However, I'm not good at picking locks - mostly it feels like random poking until they open or I get bored. Maybe someone can help me and others to get started? Of course we can always poke at the locks together and see where it takes us. #osco25
