They do great work of making the download of various dictionaries and knowledgebases offline extremely easy!
This is essential for people in regions with bad internet, like a refugee camp.
I couldn't find any legal advice, which would be pretty important, apart from a general #StackExchange backup.

I dont think we are talking about the same thing here.
I said I wasnt sure if OSM data can be in any way protected, like locking articles on #wikipedia. Probably somehow, but maybe not even the persistence of these hotspots could be ensured.
But of course I didnt say that it is a good idea to use OSM as a database including names, contact information and whatnot in there.
