Bei ersteren wird herbeigeführte Energie in Wärme umgewandelt, während letztere keinen zusätzlichen Beitrag erzeugen, sondern tatsächlich nur Wärmereservoire verschieben. Die Studien aus Asien dürften sich eher auf erstere beziehen. Und das ist in der Tat ein Problem.

Die App wollte eine TAN von mir. Mein TAN-Generator war aber zuhause. Wenn das die Regel sein soll, dann sehe ich schwarz für meine Wero-Nutzung. Im Online-Shopping käme das ja einer Vorkasse gleich. Warum sollte ich dann nicht SEPA-Lastschrift bevorzugen? Weniger Aufwand auf meiner Seite und rechtlich meines Wissens auch bessergestellt.

I guess it was in the context of the EU Commission's social media team's post to their recommendation of the Fediverse as an alternative to Facebook. The Fediverse has friction in propagation, in search, in reach – and in the end that's a good thing.

@chrisstoecker @_tillwe_ Das eigentliche Drama ist ja, dass wir Mittel und Wege haben, Maschinen unsere Probleme und die gewollte Lösung exakt zu formulieren. Programmiersprachen, es sind Programmiersprachen. Aber schon Menschen haben Schwierigkeiten, einander ohne Missverständnisse zu verstehen, und auf einmal soll ein primitives Textvervollständigungssystem eindeutiges Verständnis beherrschen können? Ich will nicht ausschließen, dass das eines Tages möglich sein könnte, aber die heutigen LLMs sind noch in ihren Kinderschuhen.

Seine Firmen haben sich mittlerweile auch an vielen Stellen im Wirtschaftsnetz eingenistet. Und weil es immer wieder Menschen wie ihn gibt, müssen wir die Strukturen verändern, damit es keine Wege zu so viel Macht geben kann.

@malteengeler@legal.social @rhold@norden.social Ich sehe das Verhindern von Machtkonzentration als Wesenskern von Anarchie. Kapitalismus ist nur eine Erscheinungsform von Machtkonzentration. Der real existierenden Kommunismus war eine andere Form von Machtkonzentration. Machtkonzentration braucht keinen Kapitalismus. Was auf den Kapitalismus folgt _muss_ solche Machtkonzentration verhindern. Aber ich sehe mich nicht als Extremist. Ich akzeptiere Unterschiede zwischen Menschen und daraus auch leichte Unterschiede in ihrer "Macht". Charismatische Menschen werden immer eher in der Lage sein, Macht anzuwenden. Es darf halt nur keine "Machtlawine" daraus entstehen. Die Verfügungsgewalt über Geld und Eigentum ist eine Form von Machtaneignung. Ich denke, wir sind gar nicht weit auseinander, ich versuche nur, _alle_ Formen von Macht gleich mit zu erschlagen und mich nicht nur auf bekanntermaßen problematische Formen zu versteifen.

Technofeudalismus als Ergebnis unseres Kapitalismus' ist ja ein Problem der Machtkonzentration. Was auch immer folgt, braucht Strukturen, die solche Machtanhäufung unmöglich und auch unattraktiv machen.

Vor ca. 20 Jahren habe ich Windows XP den Rücken gekehrt, weil mir die ständigen Neuinstallationen auf die Nerven gingen. Kaum bastelte man ein wenig herum, brach alles irreparabel zusammen.

Damals war Ubuntu der heiße Scheiß! IIRC fing ich mit 6.06 (ja, zwei Monate zu spät) oder 6.10 an. Das Wiki von ubuntuusers.de war eine der besten deutschsprachigen Anlaufstellen für viele Fragen.

Rückblickend fiel mir der Umstieg wohl auch deswegen so leicht, weil ich unter Windows eh hauptsächlich schon Freie Software nutzte: Openoffice.org, GIMP, VLC, Inkscape. Den proprietären Opera, den ich von 4.0 bis 12.5 nutzte, gab es auch. Allein den Mail-Client TheBat! vermisste ich und vermisse ich auch heute noch. Ich habe Evolution, Geany und Thunderbird ausprobiert, aber keiner konnte mich wirklich überzeugen.

Ich denke, wer den Umstieg wagen will, sollte mit solchen Desktop-Anwendungen anfangen. Wenn man damit klarkommt, steht Linux auf dem Rechner nichts im Wege.

@chrisstoecker Warum bin ich nicht empört, warum bin ich politikverdrossen? Wegen der Folgenlosigkeit, wegen der fehlenden Verantwortung und Rechenschaft: Altmaier, Dobrindt, Scheuert, Spahn und jetzt Reiche. Aber es fing ja vorher schon an mit Schäuble und Kohl. Reiche ist nur das aktuellste Beispiel des tolerierten Politikstils. Eine Mehrheit meiner Mitmenschen scheint keinerlei Probleme mit diesem Verhalten zu haben, solange keine "linksgrünversifften" Parteien an die Macht kommen. Das ist der Preis, den zu zahlen sie bereit sind. Was in der Politik geduldet wird, ist das eine. Das ist das andere.

@chrisstoecker Es ist schlichtweg traurig mit anzusehen, wie die ganze technische Entwicklung, die wir hierzulande hätten haben können, jetzt woanders stattfindet, nur weil zu dem Zeitpunkt, als man hätte einsteigen können, damit noch lange kein so großer Profit zu machen war wie mit der etablierten Technik. Keine Vision, keine Zukunft, nur vergängliche Gegenwart.

Die meisten nutzen entweder das Webmail-Interface am Rechner und haben sich noch nie einen Kopf gemacht, wie sie Webmail mit PGP benutzen könnten, oder sie benutzen die Mail-Apps von Google oder Apple auf ihren Handys. Und zumindest Google Mails Unterstützung für PGP ist nicht vorhanden.

Ob jetzt einfach nur vorher mit einer Rakete senkrecht nach oben und dann wieder herunter oder aus einem Raumfahrzeug mit geosynchroner Flugbahn, ist egal, Hauptsache keine hohe Winkelgeschwindigkeit, die abgebremst werden muss.
